Higher Education Programmes for Serving & Ex-Servicemen Armed Forces Personnel

Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University Baripada, in coordination with the Rajya Sainik Board, offers various Graduate, Post Graduate, Diploma, Advanced Certificate, MBA/MCA and Ph.D. programmes for eligible serving Armed Forces personnel, Ex-Servicemen  and eligible dependents.

These programmes provide an opportunity to obtain higher educational and professional qualifications by considering their educational qualifications, service experience, professional training and service-related credits.

Programmes Offered

• Graduate Programmes – including BA and selected technical diploma/degree programmes.
• Post Graduate Programmes – including technical and management programmes.
• B.Ed./B.P.Ed. Programmes – for candidates meeting the prescribed eligibility conditions.
• MBA/MCA Programmes – through the applicable credit-transfer route.
• Diploma & Advanced Certificate Programmes – for candidates meeting the prescribed educational and/or experience requirements.
• Executive Ph.D. Programmes – for eligible serving Armed Forces personnel, Ex-Servicemen and eligible dependents, subject to the required postgraduate qualification and programme-specific eligibility.

Eligibility

Serving Armed Forces personnel, Ex-Servicemen and eligible dependents may apply for programmes for which they meet the eligibility conditions.

For Ex-Servicemen

For applicable Graduate/Post Graduate programmes offered through the ESM credit-transfer route, the prescribed criteria include:

• The applicant should be an eligible Ex-Serviceman as defined under the applicable Government of India provisions.
• Minimum 15 years of service is required for applicable Graduate/Post Graduate programmes.
• Candidates should possess 10th/10+2 or equivalent qualification and applicable Armed Forces educational certificate.
• Special provisions for eligible matriculate candidates where service credits may be considered for an Integrated BA (05 years) programme.
• Specific provisions for Sports Instructors, Physical Training Instructors, Education Instructors and other qualified Armed Forces personnel for relevant programmes.
• Post-Graduation applicants must possess the required Graduation degree in the concerned subject.

For Serving Armed Forces Personnel

A serving Armed Forces applicant ( who is retiring within 1 year from service) must produce a valid Service Certificate issued by their Unit Commanding Officer. The Service Certificate should confirm the applicant’s:

• Name and service particulars
• Current serving status
• Service/Unit details with address and email id
• Service tenure, wherever required

The Service Certificate must be submitted along with the prescribed educational and identification documents.  For Ph.D. Programmes Applicants for Ph.D. programmes must meet the prescribed programme-specific requirements, including:

• Required Post Graduate degree in the concerned subject
• Minimum prescribed marks, including 55% wherever applicable
• Valid service certificate for serving Armed Forces participants
• Service Certificate/other prescribed documentation for eligible Armed Forces participants and dependents, as applicable
• Qualification in the examination/assessment conducted by MSCB University

Diploma / Advanced Certificate Programmes

Candidates possessing the prescribed minimum educational qualification and/or experience may apply for Diploma and Advanced Certificate programmes, subject to the eligibility requirements of the specific programme.

Assessment & Degree Award

Candidates have to undergo assessment by the Board of Officers at RSB, including scrutiny of service qualifications and a viva voce. MSCB University will conduct a 7–10 day Subject Proficiency Enhancement and Assessment Program (SPEAP) for applicable UG/PG programmes. The assessment will include:

• Subject-specific classes
• Written examination – 100 marks
• Viva voce – 100 marks
• Total assessment – 200 marks

Candidates who successfully complete the prescribed academic, assessment and verification requirements will be considered for award of the relevant degree, diploma or certificate by MSCB University.

Course Fees

Registration and Service Charge Rs 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only).

• Admission/registration does not automatically guarantee the award of a degree or certificate.
• Credit transfer, assessment and degree award are subject to the applicable University rules and statutory requirements.
• Programme availability, fees, admission schedules and eligibility are subject to change as per the directions of MSCB University, RSB and other competent authorities.
• Candidates should carefully review the eligibility and document requirements of the selected programme before completing registration.
• Registration and Service Charge of Rs 500/- will be forfeited once the document is submitted duly completed, to the MSCB University.
